9/11

I have always considered it as treason against the great republic of human nature, to make any man’s virtues the means of deceiving him.
Samuel Johnson (1709–84), author

It’s a shame that the horrific events of 9/11 have to be made so political. The United States should have spared no expense to track down Osama bin Laden and eliminate the Taliban, instead the trauma and tragedy were used for someone else’s political agenda and gain.

The Bush administration should be vilified throughout history for such a blatant disregard for the country and a betrayal of its citizens.

They talk of a man betraying his country, his friends, his sweetheart. There must be a moral bond first. All a man can betray is his conscience.
Joseph Conrad (1857–1924), novelist

I heard the president is going to speak tonight. I think I'll pass.

Great quotes! I love that first one. Yes, isn't that the worst of all?

I would vilify not only the Bush administration, but also the local politicians on the island of Wonderland, site of the horror of 9/11, who have made such opportunistic political names for themselves in the wake of those events.

If Bush is to be remembered for anything 9/11 related, it should be for his choosing to ignore the news and continue reading at his grade level to small children while the town I live in went to and through hell.
