Mary Travers RIP

How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind

True story: A few years ago the magazine I work for was putting together a collection of quotes by celebrities endorsing marriage equality (protesting Bush's proposed "Marriage Protection Amendment" to the federal Constitution). The editors had reached out to all sorts of people from the entertainment industry and had gotten some great quotes, and just as we were going to press the manager for Peter, Paul, and Mary called us. They had heard about the project through other channels and asked if they could submit a statement too. Theirs was the only celebrity quote that solicited us instead of the other way around. RIP, Mary.
